Water Displacement Pills? REALLY?!?!?

So the NFL is all hot and bothered against a few players who have tested positive for taking Water displacement pills(more commonly known as diuretics) in order to "lose weight" and remain a little slimmer than they actually are.

Whether it's for speed purposes or anything else...should we really give a damn?

No. We absolutely should not care that these gentlemen are taking these pills.

The "powers that be" state that these pills can be taken to mask the presence of performance enhancing drugs, but in these cases...I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. Duece McAllister is hardly the prototype of a performance enhanced beast. Will Smith's productivity over the past year has dropped, which is hardly reflective of speed or steroids and more reflective of old knees and an aging back.

So what in the hell is the big deal? The folks are taking diuretics to keep their water weight down. Our military does it too. In fact, if these pills are making such a huge difference...why do we not see them more prevalent among the crash dieting world of the common citizen?

I'll tell you why...BECAUSE IT'S NOT A BIG DEAL and the media, NFL, and other people who are making it a big deal are no better than lame Drama Queens who have nothing better to do than accuse athletes of negative things because their lives are so boring.

Congratulations NFL and Media...your life sucks so bad that you have to lambast athletes for taking water weight pills.

I hope with everything in my soul that nothing comes out of this for these athletes. It's just another little move where a league can make up that some type of pill or vitamin is performance enhancing. By this rationale, you know what else is performance enhancing...A MULTIVITAMIN and a SODA.

Get off it you lamers and let the men play.

Huguley's Humpday Prediction # 3: Slaton Gone Wild!!!

I have a theory....and yes....it's a solid theory. The Texans played a great game this past Sunday. Andre Johnson continued a 3 game 100+ yard streak, the Ahman/SS train continued chugging away, Owen "I AM A BEAST!" Daniels continued his lessons on how an NFL Tight End should play the game this past week with 6 receptions for over 60 yards and 2 touchdowns.

I'm sorry, Cowboy fan, where was Jason Whitten? Oh I know...He was busy getting twenty less yards and no touchdowns on the same amount of receptions. Hopefully, I never have to hear ignorant, hillbilly speak tell me how good Jason Whitten is again.

By the way...sorry about ALL of your losses, Cowboy Fan. This has been a tough week for you. Not only have you lost your 3rd game in your, so called, "SUPERBOWL YEAR"...you also lost an all-star Safety, Corner, Quarterback, a little bit of dignity, and you are one step closer to losing your head coach!

While you are wallowing in your own urine and self pity, myself and my fellow Texan fan should enjoy a nice win of the 0-6 Bengals!

Let's go Texans!

Huguley's Humpday Predictions:

Slaton will have 113 yards and 2 TD's...one running and one recieving.
Demeco Ryans will rock out with 11 tacles and a pick.
Schaub will throw a pick, but also throw 3 TD's...one of those will be Slaton's

Hopeful thinking? That's the only way to win!

Roy Williams WHAT??!?!?!

Wow! The Cowboys seem like they are a little bit desperate. Let me say what every true Texans, Redskins, Giants, and Eagles fans are saying right now:

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
HAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHHHAHHAHHAHHHAHAHAHHHAAHHAHHAH!
......HAHHAHAH......HA...HAHA...........HAHAHA....HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa.a.a.a...a.a..a...a.a

I am ashamed to share a birthday with someone like Jerry Jones. For those of you who have no idea...that's yesterday (October 13th).  It's also another famous Jerry's birthday. That would be, former 49er bad ass...Jerry Rice, but I digress.

Now the Cowboys are truly reaching. They traded several draft picks, including next years 1st rounder to the Lions for WR Roy Williams. Don't get me wrong, Williams is a talented weapon when he can stay healthy and should be a strong counter attack to the Barber/Jones assault, but is he really worth all that?

I was thinking that in a Madden-like league, the Texans could have traded Sage and David Anderson for Roy Williams and John Kitna, but that's just too fantasy league.

We'll see if this move helps dig the Cowboys out of a nasty hole that they have suddenly found themselves in with "Pac" being suspended, Romo breaking his pinky, Hurd being down and out, and now Felix Jones slowed.  I mean...those are some serious problems.

Can Roy Williams be the solution? Only time will tell....

NEWS FLASH Houston Texans Fans: MATT SCHAUB IS A GOOD QUARTERBACK

Dear Booing Texans fans-

Where did you learn how to be a fan? The boos for our home team both Schaub this week and last week when Sage blew the game, made me want to vomit in my mouth a little.

If you boo the home team…you are not a true and true fan. It’s plain and simple. And why are you booing? Because you have some sort of education on what goes into being a quarterback and making a play? Because you have a knowledge on making reads, progressions, and a collapsing pocket to base your knowledge on? NO! The ex-football players and people who actually understand these things and the true strategy of the game aren’t the ones booing. It’s the fan who is ignorant to what truly goes into winning a game.

Booers…I say boo on you. Save your boos for the other team. Boo Patrick Cobbs. Boo big Phins plays. Don’t boo the home team. Being a fan means supporting the team through thick and thin. The Aggies may be a bunch of farmers and mechanics, but they are smart about one thing…the 12th man is the most important position on the field. If we want a home team to be successful we need to step behind them and stop this bad attitude booing nonsense.

FACT: Schaub was hit as he was throwing the ball on both the interceptions and the almost interception.

FACT: Boo’s only make a player play worse.

FACT: Bob Mcnair has invested quite a bit of money in Schaub and he is going to hold out on him until he gets a return on that investment whether you like or not. It’s a business for him…and just like a business…he will wait as long as he can to get money back on an investment.

FACT: SINCE HE’S GOING TO BE AROUND FOR AWHILE…Let’s get behind Schaub and help support him into being the QB he is capable of instead of driving him into the same grave that the BOOERS drove David Carr into.

BUILD UP, TEXANS FANS!!! Don’t tear down!

PacMan Jones Chasing His Ghosts

So, Pac-Man Jones has done it again.

This guy is too busy with his "scrip" clubs and gangsta lifestyle to get his "ish" straight and see how fortunate he really is.

Adam "Pac-Man" Jones alledgedly got into an altercation in the wee hours of Wednesday morning with one of his team appointed chaparones in a public bathroom at a ritzy hotel in Dallas.  Both parties are not pressing charges, but the fact that Jones is still having problems is concerning.

Let's take a few moments to get something straight: Adam Jones...an adult...with the nickname of a video game character, the english and grammar skills of a c level second grader,  and a history of "making it rain" with copious amounts of cash and violence...is in the news again for being a flat out thug? Is that about right?

What a friggin' suprise!

This is just another piece of evidence that lends itself to my forever backed up theory that "once a thug...always a thug."  Honestly though, we all had to see this coming.

A supposed and self-proclaimed "grown-assed man" who has had to have 4 team appointed chaperones to help keep him out of trouble assigned to him at all times and been forced to seek the shelter of a mentor like "Prime Time" Deion Sanders is asking for a lifetime of trouble. I mean DEION?!??! Seriously? "Prime Time" knows less about class than a back-woods  hillbilly with a beer in his hand. The least they could have done was give Jones a competent corner back mentor like Darryll Green, Eric Allen or Chris Dishman....wait...strike that last one....but even Aaron Glenn (currently with the team) would have been a better choice, but I digress.

Players like Jones not only give the NFL a bad name, but I am tempted to believe that they give humanity a bad name as well.

It's harsh, but why is it that this happens time and time again. Usually, I will give a player the benefit of the doubt and I did once again with Pac, but just like thugs normally do...Pac fell off.

And the saddest part is, to Pac-Man it will forever be someone else's fault...

One way to look at this is as a minor slip up since noone is facing charges, but a slip-up is a slip-up. Jones was given a chance under the condition that there would be NO slip-ups. He was even assigned that team of "body guards" to keep him out of trouble.  He then turned around and made trouble with them.

It's a viscious cycle and I feel very sorry for the Cowboy fans. I'd like to see Jones pick himself out of the dumps, become responsible for his actions, and be a successful NFL corner and contributing member of society....I really would.

But right now, he is doing nothing but digging himself further into the dumps.

So what are you going to do Pac? Continue the life of a waste of space, violence causing, non-respected by society thug or turn the corner and act like someone fans, your team, your family, and kids into the future can respect? For most the choice is easy and comes with staring by doing one thing....GROWING UP.

Super Steve AND Super Mario Are Back!??!? Huguley's Humpday Prediction # 2

Alright so I have missed the passed several weeks. Perhaps because something deep in my soul told me that the Texans were really going to have a few hard times, or perhaps because I have been busy with all of my non-sports blogging responsibilities. None the less...

WEEK 6 Humpday NFL Predictions:

- Steve Slaton will have another big week against the Dolphins lighting it up for 131 yards and a TD
- Mario Williams will see 1 sack
- Chad Pennington will get knocked out of the game with an injury in the 3rd Quarter
- Ricky Williams will hit the bong with 30 seconds left in the 4th Quarter
- Adrian Peterson will come back from this past weeks terrible performance and rush for over 180 yards
- Donovan McNabb returns to old form this week with a HUGE GAME

The Texans SHOULD come out with a win this week...I hope so...It's getting harder and harder to defend them each week.

Oy.

Galveston Police Gone Crazy...on Backe?!?!?

****THE PHOTO'S AREN'T REAL*****
(It's just the "Don't Taze Me Bro" pics with Brandon Backe's head on top)

This story is though...

It is alleged that the Galveston police brutally attacked Brandon Backe and a number of other guests at a Galveston wedding over the weekend.

Not only did the GPD attack Backe upon him merely responding to their demands of the guests to back up, "We've backed up as far as we can, sir!"

but they also held a man's head down with their foot when he was trying to keep them from harming his 8 month pregnant wife.

Way to go Galveston Police Department. Way to go.

I wonder if they asked Brandon to please step "Backe" before they beat him with police brutality.

EFFING CORRUPT COPS!!!

Texans Will Get A Win

Okay, okay...so the Texans home opener is coming up this weekend against the Colts. Am I excited? Hell freaking yes I am excited. They are coming off of a positive loss (if there is such a thing) against the Jags where we saw the Texans offense come alive against a pretty darn good Jax D.

Not much can be said about Mario and the Texans D, however, who struggled like Mike Taylor does in whit to Adam Clanton. (If you don't get that one, it doesn't really matter.)

None the less...the home opener WILL be a win.

How do I know?

I just have a feeling. The boys won't start 0-4. It's just not possible. I think in this game, the D is going to step up. Mario will have a sack or two. Demeco will have over 10 tackles and Fred Bennett will have 2 picks. 2 picks may be stretching it a little, but I just have a feeling!

LET'S GO TEXANS!!!!
