And The Rockets Red Glare....

The trade deadline is quickly approaching and the Rockets have yet anything to show for it. Rumors have flown around the proverbial mill ranging from absurd Kobe talk to more believable package trades for Vince Carter, but nothing has happened yet. Will it?

It's my belief that something will indeed happen. Personally, I like and put some clout in the Vince Carter talk. He wants off the Nets and losing Ron Artest and Aaron Brooks as the trade proposes wouldn't be so bad. The problem is...that's not all the trade proposes.

The Brooks, Artest package also includes the likes of one...Carl Landry, who's talents have been a pleasant surprise to a lackluster team over the past two years. Sure, he hasn't done as much this season so far, but he is still a solid member of the team.

That being said, having Vince Carter as a Rocket...teamed up with Yao and Shane Battier...may be a whole different team to watch. I don't include T-Mac in that because I have given up and no longer care what happens in the future of the player whom I defended so vehemently last year. He sucks! There is no other words and excuse me if you are offended easily, but Tracy McGrady is a big, whiney, poonanny and nothing is going to change that.

So as Rockets fans we have to move on and join behind the other members of the squad who choose to play through shoulder issues, broken feet, and herniated discs. McGrady will NEVER be the type of player you want him to be, so stop caring!

Yao is going to be around for some time to come. Stand behind him. This year he has played in 50 out of 53 games...and played pretty well. WHAT MORE DO YOU PEOPLE EXPECT FROM HIM?!?!! Sure it would be great if he showed a little more tenacity, but guess what....He's from China...born and bread to not show anger...it will not happen. Live with the positives that you have: A solid presence in the paint, a strong free throw shooter, and a marketing masterpiece.

The Rockets are 5th in the Western Conference coming into the pseudo-second half of the season. They are in a great spot to do some damage for the rest. They are one of the best teams at home. So now they need to band together, learn to play without Tracy and quit worrying about it and win some games.

Can they do it? Absolutely.

But they need the help of YOU, Rockets fan!!! Quit being such a negative ninny. Take your happy pills, drink a few pints, and do what ever you have to do to stop the constant complaining that Houston fans are prone to do and stand behind your team. Get on the rollercoaster because the ride....has just begun.
