So the season has been over for a number of weeks now...at least for the Houston Texans it has. All in all, it was a good season despite what you may read in the "tabloids" called the Houston Chronicle or national media.
Over the years I have found that many media outlets will try there very best to be nay sayers, give a sense of false hope and...for the lack of a better term....Bitch, bitch, bitch. And that is pretty much how most media members are wrapping up the Texans past season.
I, on the other hand, have some good things in mind that came from this season and I want to share them with the folks out there who actually "care" and aren't your typical bandwagoners.
Steve Slaton opened our eyes to a whole other type of football. Remember Emmitt Smith with the Cowboys in the 1990's? That is what us, Texans fans, are about to get with Mr. Slaton. Expect him to completely disregard the "sophomore slump" theory and have a 1500+ yard season in 2009.
His ability to draw opposing defenses closer to the line of scrimmage will allow our man Schaub to drop a good number of bombs to Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, Kevin Walters, and an unknown WR pick up.....could it be Marty Booker????? Possibly...
BUT...this years draft picks better be spent on a DE, an OLB, a CB, a S, and another OL. Anything else doesn't really matter because they wouldn't make the team anyway and then they'll bitch, bitch, bitch about having to run football drills at OTA's.
On a side note....Dan Stevenson is a frickin' jackass who just wants money. If he had ever been a "real" football player he wouldn't have pulled the lame crap that he did. Let me be frank, he would NEVER HAVE HAD A REAL FOOTBALL CAREER IN THE NFL. He was a 7th rate lineman at best, which means: HE WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE MADE IT ON THE PRACTICE SQUAD FOR AN ARENA TEAM!
That being said, I will admit that he could beat the crap out of me, but he's still a complete douche for this idiotic crap he pulled.
Dan Stevenson is a big fat douche.
But I digress...
Next year...after getting either Julius Peppers, Ray Lewis, or Terrell Suggs....things are looking good...I project 10-6 with a wild card birth. Maybe even 11-5, but we need Matty Matt to stay healthy.
The rumors have started.....let the games begin.
