Deuce McCallister, the New Orleans Saints all-time leading rusher has been released and is now available for any team to pick up and give him a shot.
The major question is: Does Deuce still have some juice or should the rest of the league just chunk him the Deuce?
I believe that there still is a bit of Deuce Juice left in the tank and he could really offer a lot to a team who needs a power/semi-power back. He should be relatively cheap to acquire, so giving him a shot wouldn't be as taxing on a team as it was for the Texans to give a try to Ahman Green...we all know how that turned out.
Giving Deuce a chance would be more like when the Redskins picked up Shaun Alexander last year, only with more productive results. Anticipate Deuce making an impact as a Goaline and short yardage back on a team like the Texans who needs someone just like him to spell Steve Slaton.
Other possible spots where Deuce would make a good fit would be Detroit, Arizona, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, or Cleveland. Wherever he ends up, he will make an impact. Mark my words.
I had originally thought that Ricky Williams would be the answer to the Texans back up RB problem, but now I think Deuce will be the solution. Fred Taylor could also be an option. We'll just have to see how it pans out.
