College Saturday: Trey's Texas Picks

Hey everyone!!! Please welcome Garrett to the Gang. I should have introduced him, but I felt like it was better just to let him blast away....and I think it worked out just quite right.

So....it's Saturdary - COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAY - and we have some really great match ups. Have you made your picks yet? If not, maybe you want to take my thoughts in before you lay any ducats down on anyone in particular.

Alabama at Duke - I know this is a TEXAS football blog, but I have to include #1...ON straight up bets TAKE BAMA. Even though my sis went to Duke, this game will be a slaughter. Heisman trophy winner Mark Ingram makes his season debut after recovering from surgery and we can all expct him to BLAST away his competition. I wouldn't put money on Alabama minus 25, but I certainly expect them to win. Prediction: 34 - 7 Bama

Baylor at TCU - TCU WILL win this game....BUT......the line is 21!!! I think if there is any bet to take this weekend would be Baylor and the points. They have a huge offense with Robert Griffen III (RG3) and even though the Horned Frogs have a very potent offense, I can't see them beating Baylor by two scores. If I were a handicapper - this would be my "LOCK." Prediction: 48 - 32 TCU

Texas at Texas Tech - Don't bet on this game, whatever you do. Tech gets 3 points and I think that will be all that they need to slam past the Longhorns who have been less than impressive thus far this season. Sorry, Mack. Either get your ish together or let the younger brother start rather than Graham. Prediction: 34 - 32 Texas

FIU at Texas A & M - Wow...this game couldn't be more of a "blah" match up - at least you would think that on the surface. This could actually turn out to be one of the really exciting games of the week, although A & M should win it without problems- they do give up 28 points by the way....for entertainment purposes only. Prediction: 17 -6 A & M

Northwestern at Rice - This is an interesting match up. Personally, I am tempted to take Rice because my sis also went there and they are being given 6.5 points. I think this will be a close one, but I think Rice is going to win. Expect a HUGE game from Houston native Sam McGuffie. Prediction: 24 - 21 Rice

Houston at UCLA - This is a tough one. My gut says to take UH, but they are giving up 4 points and I think that is too much. That said - the Cougars have a strong offense and if Case Keenum is healthy can whip UCLA in the butt....if Keenum isn't healthy however, it will be a much closer game. Prediction: 54 - 38 UH
