Eating Crow About Roy Williams

I know this is mostly a Texans blog, but after last weeks beat down I feel that I must eat crow about one subject. This may be a short lived crow eating, but he played a good game and I must admit that there is the possibility that I was wrong about Roy Williams in my 2008 article Roy Williams...What?!?!.

In that particular article, I MAY have said that the Cowboys wasted draft picks by picking up Williams - which at the time I thought was true. Keep in mind that this was before they wasted even more money going after the Terrell Owens, but I digress.

Roy Williams had perhaps his career day against the Texans last Sunday and certainly deserves the credit. It gave me flashback to his days as a Longhorn where he made some spectacular catches and many big plays.  In my defense, I did say in that article that "Williams is a talented weapon when he can stay healthy and should be a strong counter attack to the Barber/Jones assault." That's exactly what he was against the Texans.

This crow doesn't taste too bad, since I was right about Why Not To Give Up on Matt Schaub before the 2009 season and about Vince Young's comeback as well, but it is crow none the less. Like Young on the Titans, Williams is a Cowboy that I don't mind pulling for. I'd like to see him continue this rebirth and have a career year.

Congratulations to Williams, the Cowboys and their fans. You truly did come into the Texans house and smack us in the mouth. I'm sure the Texans will keep that in mind in 2014 or if by the grace of god there is a February rematch in Dallas...oh that would be so nice.

Note: This will be the last post about last week. But - we're playing Oakland...I mean what else are we going to talk about...

(PS - You didn't think I'd put a Cowboys picture on here though - did you?)
