Schaub trade may be another big mistake for Texans

"This trade was a slam dunk for the Falcons."

"What has many of you in an uproar isn't the Texans swapping first-round positions in next month's draft or even surrendering a second-round pick, it's the additional No. 2 pick in 2008."

Comments in that blog:

the Texans got played for fools.

What if by some cosmic stroke of luck, Brady Quinn ends up falling to #8?

I am not sold on Rick Smith at all. Other then getting some street guys to fill in last year, his trades and free agents are a joke.

giving up our 2nd round picks this year and next is way too much to give up.

Two seconds for a back-up? How would this be different than rolling the dice on Quinn? Are we destined to be the laughing stock of the league forever?

The Texans wouldn't part with draft picks for Jake the snake but they will for Shaub?

Schaub, in Houston, could mean "getting taken to the cleaners."

The Texans never cease to amaze me. Swap first round picks and 2 second round picks for a backup. The history of stupid moves continues.

sounds like a BUST in the making !!

Just give me my season ticket money back. I'm not going to support a team that has absoluty no idea what it's doing and has no desire to win.

If it is swapping firsts and 2 2nds that is beyond overpaying....just shows Smith and Kubiak are in way over their heads

If you think Schaub will be great, quit kidding yourself.

As soon as the Texans start to look smarter, they get hustled like this.

This move hurts big time. If it is a 2nd round pick in 07 AND 08 for Schaub, then we just got mugged for a career backup.

And there is pages upon pages of this stuff. It just makes me smile after a day like yesterday.
