Hey Matt Schaub Haters - READ THIS

I'm sick and tired of hearing sports radio callers complain about how BAD they think Matt Schaub is, how he isn't a leader and how they wish the Texans would get rid of him ASAP because we'll never make the playoffs with him at the helm.

Let me start by saying you're mostly wrong. Sure - he's slow both physically and mentally sometimes and he also doesn't look like the all out LEADER you want in a Quarterback from the outside. The bottom line is that as ugly as it may be sometimes...he knows the offense and right now he's the best option for the Texans at Quarterback, so stop complaining.

Because most of you are never satisfied no matter how good your team is - let me lay out for you in black and white...

Schaub is by far a better option than 22 other Quarterbacks that are currently starting for NFL teams. He falls in line with another 4 who all have shown potential yet just can't push it to the top tier and only has 6 that would be clear better options - NONE of which are available.

Six Starting Quarterbacks Who Are Clearly Better than Schaub - but will NEVER be available to the Texans, so forget it:
1. Aaron Rogers
2. Drew Brees
3. Peyton Manning
4. Tom Brady
5. Ben Roethlisberger
6. Michael Vick

Five Current Starting Quarterbacks that Schaub Can Be Better or Worse than depending on the day:
7. Philip Rivers - Has become very inconsistent when his leading WR's and TE's are out - 3 picks against the Chiefs?
8. Matt Ryan - Could take the next step with a lot of weapons around him, but not there yet.
9. Matt Stafford - Guy shows potential, but would be nothing without Megatron.
10. Eli Manning - Very hot and Cold. Mostly cold.

Twenty Two Current Starting Quarterbacks that Schaub is CLEARLY Better than:
11. Tony Romo - No question. He's lost anything he was going to become.
12. Matt Hasselback - No question.
13. Alex Smith - No question.
14. Ryan Fitzpatrick - Not proven.
15. Jay Cutler - Not a great leader and way more inconsistent than Schaub
16. Joe Flacco - Not the best passer, which is why they lean so heavily on the Defense and Ray Rice.
17. Cam Newton - Not proven, but showing promise to move up.
18. Mark Sanchez - Way too inconsistent and too caught up in off field glamour and distraction.
19. Sam Bradford - Not proven, but showing promise to move up.
20. Andy Dalton - Not proven, but showing promise to move up.
21. Kevin Kolb - Has failed to live up to expectations big time even with Fitzgerald.
22. Matt Cassel - He's Matt Cassel...No question.
23. Josh Freeman - Not proven...yet.
24. Carson Palmer - Too old.
25. John Beck - No question.
26. Tarvaris Jackson - No question.
27. Christian Ponder - Not proven.
28. Colt McCoy - Not proven.
29. Tim Tebow - No question.
30. Matt Moore - No question.
31. Blaine Gabbart - No question.
32. Curtis Painter - No question.

Is he perfect by any sense of the word? No.

Will he make mistakes? Yes...he will.

But ultimately he knows the offense extremely well, the players believe in him and he throws 3-4 touchdowns for every every interception - even without Andre Johnson. And this year...with a great defense...he get's wins.

Learn to live with it and learn to enjoy the football season rather than continuing to complain and complain.
